Not a Fan of Saying Goodbye
My husband always laughs at me because I’ve never, not once in the 22 years that I’ve been with him, said “Goodbye”. It’s true. It’s too final. When my kids leave for school in the morning, I say, “Have a great day! See you when you get home!” When my parents leave my house after visiting for the day, it’s usually, “Love you. Talk to you later.” When I hang up the phone with a friend…”I’ll chat with you soon…” Even people whom I’ve met standing on long lines at Disneyworld get, “Have a fun rest of your trip! I’m sure we’ll see you on another ride.” And, although this is my last blog and I won’t be running the Yummy Mummy Support Group anymore, I still won’t say that word.
As many of you may already know, I’m expanding my professional horizon and getting my Masters in Midwifery. It’s a very natural move, careerwise, and I will hopefully end up seeing many of you in the delivery room with your second, third, and fourth babies!
It’s been an absolute pleasure working with every mom who attended the support group and the entire staff at Yummy Mummy. I have to give a huge shout out to Amanda, who has truly made my experience in her “home” a wonderful one.
So, without further ado, and for fear of the music starting to drown me out a la an Oscar acceptance speech…I will see you all in the not so distant future. You will be in fantastic hands with Sharen!
