Do I qualify for a free breast pump through Aetna?
The affordable Care Act (ACA) has mandated that insurance plans cover the cost of a breast pump, as part the women's preventative benefit. That said, different insurance plans can have very different guidelines and coverage and some "grandfathered plans" do not have to meet ACA requirements.
What type of breast pump does Aetna cover?
Yummy Mummy offers a robust selection of top-quality breast pumps so you can always find the best breast pump for your needs. You can choose from many breast pumps that are 100% covered by insurance. You also have the option to select an upgrade pump. We offer a number of different upgrade pumps, each of which has its own extra bells and whistles. For these pumps, Aetna will cover the cost of the “base” pump and you will be required to pay an upgrade fee.
Does Aetna cover milk storage bags as well as breast pumps?
Yes! Aetna now covers breast milk storage bags. The Affordable Care Act has expanded prevention coverage for women’s health and now includes milk storage bags. Yummy Mummy will verify your coverage and ship your initial supply of milk storage bags to your door along with your pump. Yummy Mummy will then reach out periodically to see if you need more bags.
Do I need a prescription?
Some Aetna plans require prescriptions. If we determine that we will need a prescription, we will let you know.
