What to Expect from Your LatchOn Consultation

Thank you for choosing LatchOn for your HIPAA-secure Telehealth Lactation Consultation. During your consultation, you will be meeting with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). IBCLCs have demonstrated specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding and human lactation and are certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).

How can a virtual consultation with an IBCLC help you?

  • Describe babies’ feeding cues and how to gauge when your baby wants to nurse.
  • Demonstrate different positions to breastfeed your baby and how you know when you have a good latch.
  • Share tips to assess if your baby is getting enough milk.
  • Explain ways to keep your milk supply plentiful, how to increase your milk supply and manage oversupply.
  • Advise on how to continue to breastfeed once you return to your normal routine such as work or school.
